About us and our mission.
Introduction
Welcome to PrayStation 3, we're glad you found us! PrayStation 3 is a nondenominational
outreach ministry of WorkingMom. (In case you're new to this, "nondenominational" means
we aren't affiliated with any particular church or church denomination, and "Christian" means
we uphold and abide by the fundamental values and beliefs of Christianity (see
the What we Believe section for more info). We are a global prayer community.
Anyone may join, and anyone may post their prayers as long as they are to the
God of the Bible
PrayStation 3 exists to serve as an online venue for the outreach
of WorkingMom.com to minister through interactive prayer.

How PrayStation 3 is Different
Most message boards offer the opportunity to talk to other people and request
advice or information. Most prayer websites offer the ability to post prayer
requests, in the hopes others will support you in prayer. But only a handful
of websites offer the opportunity to post actual prayers. The PrayStation is
far beyond a place to post a prayer need, ThePrayStation is a place where people
actively minister to each other in an online forum by interceding for one another
before God. Emphasis is placed on the posting of prayers .
Why is important to post the prayers instead of just requests? There are
several reasons:
• It provides edification to the person who
posted the original prayer. While prayer is just as effective
regardless of whether it is written, spoken or silent,
there is something powerful and encouraging about being
upheld in prayer by others.
• It creates a dynamic that isn't experienced
in silent or individual prayer. It strengthens faith of
people who read or hear it. (Rom. 10:17 says "Faith comes
by hearing.").
• It allows the opportunity of everyone who
reads the prayer to come into agreement, this is the unity
Jesus prayed for: ".So they'll be as unified and together
as We are--I in them and You in Me. Then they'll be mature
in this oneness, and give the godless world evidence that
You've sent Me and loved them in the same way You've loved
me." -John 17:23-24
• Many people do not know how to even begin
to pray for their needs. By reading the prayers of others,
they can come into agreement and learn to pray more effectively.
In essence, prayers posted become a point of contact which
allows a person to grow in faith while opening them to
receive from God.
• By placing an emphasis on posting prayers, PrayStation 3 is just as much a place to give as it is
to receive. We are building up a team of online
missionaries who have a heart to reach the internet
world for Jesus Christ through prayer.
PrayStation 3 uses the same popular format as many of
today's hugely successful online forums. We encourage users
to register and post their prayers, however we allow guest
access. Registering helps create a community environment
by establishing a unique identity for each member of the
forum, yet allowing guest access removes any potential
barriers to anyone seeking to pray. Statistics allow users
to see which members have been around the longest, and
which ones have made the most posts.
To delineate the reasons PrayStation 3 emphasizes
the posting of prayers instead
of just prayer requests, or messages to other people, here are the reasons
we utilize this format:
- It edifies the faith of the person who originally
posted the prayer.
- It directs everyone to the true
source of help, the God of the Bible.
- It can help
someone learn to effectively pray on their own.
- It
enables people to receive spiritual encouragement.
- It creates opportunities for ministry and online
prayer missionaries.
- It creates a testimony of unity
in the body of Christ.
- It creates a record which
helps claim the internet for Christ.
Keep
in mind we're not de-emphasizing the effectiveness or importance of any other
prayer ministries or websites; we're just explaining what makes PrayStation
3 different. We are committed to unity in
the body of Christ, and we encourage you to visit and use the websites of
other prayer ministries.

OUR BELIEFS
PrayStation 3 Believes...
• In God the Father, Almighty, Maker of heaven
and earth:
• And in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son,
our Lord:
• Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born
of the Virgin Mary:
• Suffered under Pontius Pilate;
• Was crucified, died and was buried: He descended
into hell:
• On the third day he rose again:
• He ascended into heaven, and sits at the
right hand of God the Father
• He shall return to earth to judge the living
and the dead:
• We believe in the Holy Spirit:
• We believe in the Church Universal,
• The communion of saints:
• The forgiveness of sins:
• The resurrection of the body:
• And the life everlasting.
We believe there is only one God, eternally existent in
three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the
Holy Spirit.
We believe The Bible is the only infallible, inspired, and authoritative word
of God.
We believe in Jesus' Great Commission to "Go and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am
with you always, to the very end of the age." -Matthew 28:19-20
----------------------------
We encourage people of all beliefs to
post prayers on PrayStation 3, however, all prayers
must be addressed to the God of the Bible because He is
the source of help.
